My Story

A path is never straight. Mine sure hasn’t been.

My life has been a push and pull of seeking both wild adventures and life in its simplest form. At once attempting to spread my wings while also trying to stay firmly rooted.

Because I’ve often lacked clarity in my path, I’ve spent so long letting everyone else - society, my family, my perfectionism - make choices for me. I couldn’t even decide what I wanted to order at a restaurant. How could I know what I wanted out of life? But, all the indecision just left me feeling lost.

Have you ever felt this way?

I did everything I was supposed to. I got good grades in school, joined all the after school clubs, got into a good college, went to graduate school, got married and had babies. I checked all of those boxes to become successful.

And don’t get me wrong, I love my family like crazy and I am grateful for them every single day, but the truth is, after all of that time following the “right” path, I didn’t feel fulfilled.

Sure, being a mom was amazing, and I had a job I liked enough, but I just knew there was more for me. Even though I prided myself on making unconventional decisions, I also spent a long time quieting those nudges to keep taking steps toward myself.

Then, one day, I woke up early in the morning, and I knew what I had to do. On that very day, I gave my two week’s notice.

I didn’t know what was next, but that decision was the beginning of a beautiful journey of discovery. Starting (and sticking with) a business has pushed and pulled me to new places.

As a mom and online business owner, I was so committed to making it work. I did “all the things” I thought I was supposed to do. You know, the things all those internet gurus tell you are important: show up live on social media every day, start a Facebook group, also probably Facebook ads (but maybe not), get an email list, outsource, create content constantly, be real but not too real, get a Pinterest strategy.

And also get up at 5 am for “quiet time” and exercise before your day starts. I get up at 5 am but it’s definitely not quiet in this house.

No wonder I got burned out so fast. But, I knew I couldn’t go back to a 9-5. No way, no how. I had to find a way to make this work while also keeping my sanity.

I was so tired of all the noise and the endless “shoulds” added to my list. I was just following another set of “things I was supposed to do.”

So, I stopped. I stopped listening to all the gurus and started listening to myself.

I realized it had been a while since I had listened to myself. In fact, I wasn’t sure if I had ever listened to myself.

And I needed a little help to learn how to trust myself. I invested in 1:1 coaching, I took the time to let my heart’s work come through, and I realized that the travel business I had built wasn’t my whole calling on this earth. I learned that I get to decide what works for me. I get to define success, ease, flow. Not someone else.

That simple process changed me in profound ways.

I discovered that complete calling is to support other women. And I got clear on what I actually enjoyed doing in my business and left the other stuff behind. I started making more money while enjoying my life and kids more. Um, hello? Seems like a no-brainer.

And you can too. You can create a life and business that bring you joy, fulfillment, AND income, while fulfilling your purpose.

Through prioritizing my personal development to stay the course in my business, by being open to new ways of healing, lots of reading, lots of writing, coaching, being honest with myself, and being willing to change, I now feel the most secure with myself than I ever have.

I trust myself more than I ever have, and I believe that things will work out. And I want that for you, too.

 What I didn’t know before that I now know to be true is this:

That I am worthy. That I am capable, beautiful and loved exactly as I am. That, although it is worthwhile to strive for more and want to be and do my best, I am enough right now, today. I wish someone could have given me belief in myself and trust in myself and the ability to both feel and manage my emotions. That my wildest and most sacred dreams are worthy of investing in. To let go of the “shoulds” in life and follow the “what ifs.”

And I know that my true purpose is to show you what is possible. To inspire you to not settle for less than you always dreamed they could have and to help you get to a place where you know in their being you can achieve it.

Whew, well, that got pretty deep. Let’s lighten the mood a little bit, shall we?

10 fun facts about moi

  1. When my husband and I got married, we didn’t do what most people do and get jobs and buy a house - instead, we did something we knew we would always regret if we didn’t - move abroad. We taught English in Quito, Ecuador for 10 months.

  2. I try to spend as much time outside as possible - especially with my two kiddos - and we are usually barefoot.

  3. I’m a total self-proclaimed foodie. I will eat just about anything and I’ll most likely be excited about it. Crickets? Brains? Other weird shit? Bring ‘em on.

4. INFJ Meyers Briggs, 4w3 Enneagram, Aquarius Sun, Scorpio Rising, Generator in Human Design. {aka self development nerd.}

5. I lived in Arizona for 7 years, and a piece of my heart will always be there.

6. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, I worked in higher education helping college students study abroad for almost 10 years, hence my love of transformational travel. I believe that travel in its best form is one of the most transformative experiences we can have.

7. Through all of the meandering paths I’ve taken, I kept feeling called for more. To make a bigger impact. To truly discover my gifts and share those with the world. To inspire others to find their authentic and aligned path.

8. My deep purpose is to create a movement of acceptance, compassion, and healing, that begins with the self, and then ripples beyond to create lasting change in the world. {Yeah, I know. Classic overachiever.}

9. I believe that women are worthy, powerful, capable of creating and living a life on their terms, a life that is fulfilling, joyful, and purpose-driven.

10. And I believe it all begins with connection, which is why I would be so honored to connect with you.

If you feel a tiny tug on your soul that part of my story rings true for you. That maybe you know somewhere deep down you want more but you also know something is holding you back, I invite you to learn more about what it would look like to work together.
